    The Visual Journal

Linda Passman will lead you in a workshop of  artistic adventure combining writing,  drawing and
photography, using watercolor and collage to create a unique personal  book to keep and
    treasure.

Passman is an experienced teacher and artist proficient in drawing,  printmaking, painting, and
work in mixed media.  Her work  has been exhibited  in galleries and shows in North Carolina and
the New York area. She has created Journals from travels all over the world; from a chateau in
France, through cities of Europe  to the mountains  of Equador, the ancient cultures of  Turkey and
Egypt  and the American East and West coasts.

Linda invites you to, “Describe something.  . . . someone: a conversation, a  memory, a place and
use it as the theme in your journal. Once something is on the page, your relationship to it shifts. It’s
a magical process. Suddenly experience can be revised, enriched, expanded, transformed. By
combining writing and visual imagery, meaning grows on the page.  The journal, as poet Billy
Collins says, “holds whatever I uncap my pen to save.” Your imagination is your limit.
The workshop is a rare opportunity to merge the word and the image  into a permanent treasure.
