      FORENSIC SKETCH ARTIST
  • Weldon Ryan is a retired detective.  He was in the sketch unit of
  • NYPD and has over 10 years experience in the forensic art field. He
  • retired in 2004.
  •  
  • Drawing is the first step to art.  Besides crayon, the pencil is usually the first
  • medium used to draw.  Most artists and painters have moved on to other
  • mediums.  I’ll show you why pencil is still special. Along the way we will learn
    the
  • fundamentals of drawing with an emphasis on portraits.  Supplies you should
  • have: some tracing paper (any size) 11 x 14 Drawing pad, 11 x 14 Bristol board
    pad (optional for advanced drawing), drawing pencils various degrees of
    hardness( 2H, H, F, HB, B, 2B, 3B,4B, 5B,6B), kneaded eraser, gum eraser,
    white plastic eraser, sandpaper block, various blending stumps, and a
    willingness to have fun.  This class is continuous.
